Group Clustering by Early Maladaptive Schema and Group Differences in Depression, Emotion Regulation Style among Adulthood Female in Lifelong Education
Kim Hyun-A

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine natural grouping of adulthood female in terms of sub-factors of maladaptive schema. Results from a cluster analysis with a sample of early adulthood female in lifelong education(N = 229) indicated the presence of four clusters. ¡°insufficient self-control maladaptive schema group¡± was characterized by being high on risk/disease vulnerability, fusion, unrelenting standards, emotional inhibition, entitlement, the middle on BDI, and low on the response of cognitive emotion condition tactic. ¡°adaptive schema group¡± was relatively low on all sub-factors of maladaptive schema and low on BDI, high on the response of emotion condition tactic(cognitive, empirical, behavioral). By contrast ¡°egomaniacally disconnection/rejection maladaptive schema group¡± was characterized by being high on emotional deprivation, social isolation, desertion/unrest, mistrust/abuse, defectiveness/shame, failure to achieve, dependence/incompetence, subjugation, insufficient self-control, high on BDI, and low on the response of emotion condition tactic(cognitive, empirical, behavioral). Finally, ¡°other directedness maladaptive schema group¡± scored highest on self-sacrifice of maladaptive schema and mild depression, middle on the response of emotion condition tactic(cognitive, empirical, behavioral). Finally, based on the results of the study, implication to counseling practice for adulthood female, limitations, and suggestions for future study are being discussed.
